Muhammad Ali makes it easier for me to understand Parkinson’s disease. Despite the fact that this disease insists to drag him down, he continues to make people happy by feeding the hungry and showing how much he cares. Likewise, he has helped me to realize that even though my grandfather has this disease he can still do what makes him happy to a certain extent.

I see my grandfather as a man that has a slouching back, trembling hands and feet that barely move across the floor. I see a man that fights a constant battle with everyday tasks yet again a man with overflowing compassion. No matter how exhausted he may feel he remains determined to do what he loves. He loves to do activities such as mowing the yard, gardening, and a little fishing. Simple, as the tasks may seem are intricate to him. This disease takes down motor controls in the body. The disease causes trembling hands, stiff movement in arms and legs, and impairs the body’s balance.
